Description and Growing Information
General Description | A trunkless palm, with enormous spear shaped, entire leaves up to 3 metres long, and up to 2 metres wide. The underside is covered in fine white hairs which give it a silvery appearance. |
Landscape | It is suitable for growing in parks in shaded areas for its beautiful form and attractive diamond shaped leaves. |

Habitat | It grows on steep slopes of ridges of lowland rainforests in Peninsular Malaysia. |
Leaf Description | Simple, broadly diamond shape, with jagged leaf margins on the upper half, up to 3 m long and 2 m wide. The undersurface of the leaves are covered with white hairs which give them a silvery or grey colour. Its petioles are short, with two conspicuous yellow stripes on the underside, and are coarsely toothed along the edge. |
