Not a common plant but one more for the garden collector. The white flowers are unusual on a shrub that looks like and flowers at the same time as the Garden Forsythia. I have yet to see an impressive specimen of this plant but keep hoping.
A round, deciduous shrub that is multi-stemmed with clusters of small white flowers in the spring.
Cultivation
Grows well in average soil, preferring full sun. Will tolerate drought, but does not do well in moist conditions. Needs semi-regular pruning (every 3-4 years) to control and maintain shape.
Pests
No serious insect or disease problems.
Notable Specimens
The A.M. Cuddy Gardens, Strathroy, Ontario, Canada.
